Rainier. At Pike Place Market you can shop for handcrafted clothes and jewelry, and enjoy the amazing variety of flowers, famous fish markets and more.
Preserved as a National Monument, Glacier Bay exists as an extraordinary collection of glaciers in a contained region. Only two ships per day are permitted to enter the bay during the summer months, which is when whales come here to feed. Hundreds of years ago, the ice in Glacier Bay fell as snow on the icefields in the mountains above.
Compressed by its own tremendous weight, the ice slowly flows through valleys to the sea, where in some cases, it breaks off in great chunks, called "calves", to float free as icebergs and "bergy bits".
Accessible only by air or sea, Alaska's capital is surprisingly urban and cultured for such a remote destination. When you arrive by sea, you will be greeted dockside by numerous flags and an abundance of summer flowers. For further insight into the Inuit culture and crafts, visit the museum. Take the short drive to Mendenhall Glacier, the only glacier inside city limits! Take a helicopter ride for an amazing aerial view of Juneau and area, or go fishing for silver salmon. Then, just kick back and relax with a cool one at the famous and colorful Red Dog Saloon.
Sitka's Russian heritage and magnificent setting make it an enchanting destination. The city features a harbor studded with islands, a backdrop of mountains and spectacular Mt. Edgecumbe, a volcano often compared to Japan's Mt. Fuji. Sitka displays its past in such attractions as St. Michael's Cathedral with its striking onion-shaped dome, the Russian Blockhouse and world famous New Archangel Dancers. Visit the Historic Park, with a ruined Indian fort, where Tlingit Indians battled Russian settlers in 1804.
Ketchikan is the salmon capital of the world. The canneries are busy and the stream below Creek Street's rustic boardwalk bustles with life. Visit the ancient grove of Totem Bight, the largest collection of authentic totem poles anywhere. Make a flight to nearby Misty Fjords--a breathtaking vista of Alaska's unspoiled wilderness and America's newest national monument; or try a little salmon fishing.
Prim and proper with a mix of stately buildings and English traditions, Victoria is like a breath of fresh air. Its British heritage is apparent in double-decker buses, the Royal British Columbia Museum and High Tea at the Empress Hotel. Pay a visit to the renowned Butchart Gardens, where sunken floral beds reflect international themes.

Club HAL® provides a wide variety of exciting activities for kids ages 5 to 12. Participating youngsters receive an activity program delivered to their stateroom and a Club HAL® t-shirt. All activities are supervised by permanent, full-time Club HAL® directors and assistants. Club HAL® directors hold degrees in education, childhood development, recreation, leisure studies or related fields.
Age-appropriate - Club HAL® activities are designed to be age appropriate. Examples include storytelling, arts and crafts, ice-cream sundae or pizza parties, ship tours and bingo for the little ones (ages 5 to 8). For 'tweens (ages 9 to 12) there's miniature golf, Ping-Pong, theme parties, on-deck sports events and scavenger hunts.
Special shore excursions - Select itineraries even offer "kids-only" shore excursions to Half Moon Cay (HAL's private island in the Bahamas) and exploratory adventures in several Alaskan ports of call.
